Clayton Sewelson
Drum Instructor
Clayton Sewelson is a Los Angeles–based drummer with over 15 years of professional experience in both studio and live performance. He began his musical training under Scott Higgins of the Los Angeles Philharmonic and formed his first band while still in middle school. Since then, Clayton has performed across a wide range of genres—including rock, pop, blues, country, and folk—and has most recently toured and recorded with alternative rock artist Kid Bloom.
Clayton has appeared at many of Los Angeles’ most iconic venues, including the Greek Theatre, the Roxy, and the Whisky a Go Go. His passion for drumming naturally evolved into a love for teaching, which began in high school when he provided music lessons to underprivileged elementary school students through the Community Youth Partnership program.
As an educator, Clayton combines strong technical foundations with creative exploration, empowering students to develop confidence, musicality, and their own unique voice behind the drum kit.
